On November 18, 2021, the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) revealed the Top 24 prize-winning images in its 2022 Showcase competition. The annual competition, now in its 19th year, highlights the best nature photographs created by NANPA members—including experienced hobbyists as well as some of North America’s most accomplished professionals in wildlife, landscape, macro, underwater, fine art, and conservation photography.
Sylvia Hosie, one of YAAP’s photographers, received a Judge’s Choice award in the Altered Reality category for her image Out of the Mist of Time: American Bison Re-emerging from Near Extinction.
Panels of industry professionals selected the winning images from more than 3,370 submissions. All six judges are experienced prize-winning nature photographers themselves with expertise as fine artists, authors, equipment representatives, naturalists, conservation specialists, and documentary filmmakers.
